Disney Plus is developing a new live action series of ‘The Power Rangers’, The Wrap reports.
The Power Rangers franchise, which first debuted in 1993, has become one of the most successful and enduring media franchises in pop culture history. Created by Haim Saban and Shuki Levy, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers initially brought together a mix of American superheroes and Japanese footage from the Super Sentai series. This combination struck a chord with children, propelling the show into immense popularity.
Since the very first series called Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the superheroes have been brought to the screen in a number of different series and films.
In total, there are 28 seasons of TV series, 3 main theatrical films, and several special events and collaborations.
According to The Wrap, HASBRO will produce the new incarnation for Disney.
