Sky is set to bring NBC’s iconic late-night comedy show, Saturday Night Live, to audiences in the UK and Ireland in 2026. A brand-new version of the beloved series will premiere with a star-studded lineup of hosts stepping on stage to shout, “Live from London, it’s Saturday Night!”
Legendary SNL creator Lorne Michaels will serve as executive producer for Saturday Night Live UK, continuing his role on the original U.S. version. The UK edition will be produced by Broadway Video and Universal Television Alternative Studio’s UK team.
Filmed in London, the series will stick to the signature live, high-energy format that made SNL a cultural landmark—complete with celebrity hosts, musical guests, and a cast packed with top British comedic talent.
With more Emmy® wins than any show in TV history, four George Foster Peabody Awards, and a spot in the Broadcasting Hall of Fame, Saturday Night Live has been a launching pad for comedy legends like Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, Tina Fey, Will Ferrell, and many more.
Cecile Frot-Coutaz, CEO of Sky Studios and Chief Content Officer, Sky, commented: “For over 50 years Saturday Night Live has held a unique position in TV and in our collective culture, reflecting and creating the global conversation all under the masterful comedic guidance of Lorne Michaels. The show has discovered and nurtured countless comedy and musical talents over the years and we are thrilled to be partnering with Lorne and the SNL team to bring an all-British version of the show to UK audiences next year – all live from London on Saturday night!”
