Big Guest Friday with Sophie Ellis Bextor and Craig David

Craig David and Sophie Ellis-Bextor will be the first celebrities joining Scott Mills for ‘Big Guest Friday’, launching this Friday 31 January, on BBC Radio 2.

Craig David, a multi-award-winning artist and one of the UK’s most successful singer-songwriters, is known for his smooth vocals and timeless hits such as 7 Days, Fill Me In, and the infectious club anthem Rewind. With over 15 million records sold worldwide, Craig’s ability to blend R&B, garage, and pop has made him a household name since he burst onto the scene in 1999. More recently, he has been captivating audiences with his TS5 live DJ sets and his critically acclaimed album 22, marking over two decades of chart-topping success.

Joining him is disco-pop queen Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who has enjoyed a stellar career since her early days as the lead singer of indie band Theaudience. She shot to fame as a solo artist with her debut single Murder on the Dancefloor, which remains a dancefloor classic to this day. Sophie’s eclectic career spans five Top 10 albums and her hugely popular Kitchen Disco livestreams during lockdown, which turned into a full-fledged tour and inspired her recent memoir, Spinning Plates. Her ability to reinvent herself while staying true to her unique style has solidified her status as one of the UK’s most beloved entertainers.

Also new to the breakfast show this Friday, The Wonder Years. Scott plays one tune per year between 9am and 9.30am, this week starting in 1988.
