This year’s Eurovision Song Contest entry from the United Kingdom looks to have no chance of winning, with current betting odds giving them just 1% chance of coming first.
At the other end of the table, bookies rank Sweden as having the most chance of coming first, with a 25% chance of winning. Their song is “Bara Bada Bastu” by novelty band, Kaj.
Also predicted to do well are Austria with a 19% chance, followed by France with 10%. Elsewhere, Eurovision fans have been getting behind Estonia’s act Tommy Cash, despite his song currently ranking as having a 7% chance of winning.
This year’s UK entry comes from girl group Remember Monday. Despite their song “What the hell just happened?” being written by successful songwriter Billen Ted, it has so far failed to win much love from British fans. So much so, that Radio 2 and Eurovision presenter Scott Mills took to social media to ask fans to stop being negative about the entry.
But so far, British Eurovision fans haven’t come around to it, with the song currently sitting at No.169 in the live iTunes chart. And in the UK’s Official Chart, aired on the BBC, the song has bombed, ranking at No.95 the week after its release.
Each year, the UK’s entry is picked by a panel of “experts”, but fans have been calling for the return of a televised competition which will give back viewers the power of deciding who represents the country, going forward. Many other countries, including favourites Sweden, adopt the same approach.

The 69th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Basel, Switzerland following Nemo’s victory at the Grand Final in May 2024 with their song The Code.
The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 will take place in St. Jakobshalle, Basel, on Saturday 17 May with the Semi-Finals taking place on Tuesday 13 and Thursday 15 May.
