Series premieres globally March 14, 2025
Apple TV+ has released the official trailer for Dope Thief, an upcoming eight-episode crime drama executive produced by Academy Award nominee Ridley Scott, who also directs the first episode. Created and executive produced by fellow Academy Award nominee Peter Craig, the series stars Brian Tyree Henry—an Academy Award, Emmy, and Tony Award nominee—who also serves as an executive producer.

Set to premiere globally on Apple TV+ on Friday, March 14, 2025, Dope Thief will debut with its first two episodes, followed by new episodes every Friday through April 25.
Adapted from Dennis Tafoya’s novel of the same name, the series follows two longtime friends and small-time criminals from Philadelphia who impersonate DEA agents to pull off a heist at a secluded house. However, their scam quickly escalates into a deadly game as they inadvertently uncover a massive hidden narcotics corridor along the Eastern Seaboard.
Alongside Henry, the ensemble cast features Wagner Moura, Marin Ireland, Kate Mulgrew, Nesta Cooper, Amir Arison, Dustin Nguyen, and Golden Globe winner Ving Rhames.
Produced by Apple Studios and Scott Free Productions, Dope Thief is executive produced by Craig, Scott, David W. Zucker, Richard Heus, Henry, Jordan Sheehan, Clayton Krueger, and Jennifer Wiley-Moxley.
