Channel 5’s reboot of All Creatures Great and Small was a ratings smash last night.

The revival of the classic BBC drama pulled in a massive 3.3million viewers and a 20% share.  To put things into perspective, less than 1 million viewers tuned into the launch of the channel’s last ever series of Big Brother.

All Creatures Great and Small is set in 1937 and follows James Herriot, fresh out of veterinary college, as he moves to the magnificent Yorkshire Dales for work, and soon discovers that treating the animals is as much about treating their owners.

The series stars Nicholas Ralph, Samuel West, Rachel Shenton, Ana Madeley, Callum Woodhouse, Maimie McCoy and Matthew Lewis.
